About Paul Forchione


Paul's motto is "Knowledge is a Trader's most valuable tool."

As a Commodity Trading Advisor and Commodity Broker, Paul specializes in helping his clients with nondirectional, volatility-based trading. He is a Full Service Futures and Options Broker for Opportunities In Options (OIO), Inc., and works with clients of varying experience levels.

Paul is the author of The ACE Program - Encyclopedia of Options Trading Strategies, the Strategy Series of instructional CDs, and Trading Options Visually, a highly acclaimed book that presents a graphical and mathematical approach for trading options. Paul publishes his widely read, free options trading newsletter, Weekly Options Trading Report, and is also a frequent presenter of webinars and speakers at seminars throughout the country and abroad.

In 1980 Paul became a Marketmaker on the Chicago Board Options Exchange (CBOE) in Chicago, IL. He was General Partner for C.O. Jones & Co. and traded options on equities. Two years later, he became a Floor Trader on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and traded options on US Treasury Bond futures for his proprietary account. He passed membership examinations on these exchanges, leased his memberships, and attended classes conducted by First Options (his clearing firm) to learn the intricacies of trading options.

Paul's background also includes:

  • Product representative for OptionVue software

  • Corporate financial forecasting and planning

  • Operations management

  • BA with honors in mathematics from Northwestern University

  • MBA in finance and accounting from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management
